I am stunned and saddened by the news of Rusty's passing. I've been a fan of Poco's since seeing them at the Troubadour in 1969 when Steve Martin opened for the group. They even played at my high school (Fairfax) during that amazing era of music. Poco's influence on me and the music scene meant so much that I included a mention of them and Rusty's fantastic work on the dobro in my new book and I was hoping to share it with him someday. RIP Rusty and thanks for your amazing life and contribution to a sound that will live on forever.

I'm so thankful for all the great music POCO has provided the world!!!! I especially thank my older brothers for having great taste in music and exposing me to this awesome band.
I heard the 1971 album Deliverin' and was wowed!!! Man, that album just moves me!! I haven't stopped listening to it since I heard it in the 70's.

To the world about Rusty...You'll never find another man, a man like me!!! (heavy sigh)

Thank you,
Jim

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Rusty Young’s passing. He was a great musical innovator who never got the credit he deserved. Poco should be in the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame. My wife and I had the privilege of seeing Poco in concert twice, most recently February of 2020. The first time we saw the band several years before that, we got to visit with the band after the show. It was an honor to meet Rusty and the rest of the guys. All were very gracious with their time. RIP Rusty. Heaven just gained the greatest pedal steel player ever. Prayers and condolences to Mary and the family. Thank you for sharing Rusty with Poconuts around the world all these years.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Rusty Young. I have been a Poco fan since I first heard “Deliverin”. I was fortunate enough to see them a couple years ago near Ft. Lauderdale and as always they did not disappoint. Was able to meet Rusty after the show and he was so gracious. He was a really incredible musician and a wonderful person. My condolences to his family, band and fans. His music will live on.
